African Travel tips

To collect genuine African Art you have to travel much. This Travel section gives you some tips.

Collecting African Art means you need to learn much by visiting Museums and high end dealers, buying some African Art books and visiting museum exhibitions, and tribal art fairs. Once you'll have the basic knowledge and developed your eyes to spot genuine items, you'll visit the auction houses and antique fairs to buy at a cheaper rate. But be aware that without real knowledge or good advice from a trusted dealer (best backed up by another collector with knowledge who is your friend) collecting African Art can become a costly hobby, and you can end with a collection filled with tourist pieces mad for the decoration market. 

This is also one of the main reasons why provenance became such an important mather.
