Philippe Laeremans Gallery
is opening this weekend in Brussels and you are welcome

"To live among objects, can appear for some of madness, for me it is the concrete expression of a dream. I like my job and hope I shall make share my passion with a maximum of  collectors across this splendid art which is Primitive Art.

When two passionate collectors build a friendship and share their many years of experience, this can lead to a prestigious and large-scale project.

Philippe Laeremans and I soon realised that the new art gallery, which he had started together with his wife Lisa, had to operate at the highest level, by exhibiting works of absolute top quality.

Bringing together the first collection was extremely challenging, but with the publication of the first catalogue in what will hopefully be a long list, I think we proved that it is still possible to find and present exceptional works.

Philippe Laeremans collected African art from an early age and became a leading patron of a number of established art galleries in Belgium and abroad. Until, in 2004, he decided together with his wife Lisa to set up his own gallery at the Zavel-Sablon.

Now, three years later, he is moving to the former gallery of Michel Koenig, a loyal friend who has always appreciated Philippe Laeremans’s ‘eye’ and expertise.
